I love visiting eateries that remind me not to judge a book by its cover. Or a restaurant by its rundown exterior and worn, no-nonsense decor. "This looks like a place I would come as a drunk college kid," my husband mused when we first stepped inside. True to his observations, the menu is rife with the kinds of deep fried goodies and artery-clogging sandwiches that are best meant for youthful bodies with optimal metabolism. We ordered a fun variety for ourselves - a meatball parm, a pound of buffalo wings, an order of curly fries, and - to balance things out - the harvest salad. For those ordering sandwiches, know that they're enormous. A half order is an 11" deal, while the whole is a Brobdingnagian 22". Our half sandwich was great, and definitely more than enough for us to share. We had few notes on anything we ordered. The curly fries were hot and crispy, the buffalo wings hot and tangy, and the meatball parm was just as expected. I was particularly surprised by the salad, which was just supposed to be a fresh and green counterpart to all the heavier foods. I would have been happy enough with some greens and a vinaigrette, but we had a pretty robust salad with blue cheese, chicken, and pieces of diced apple. I never would've expected to find a good salad at a place like this one, but there you go. There are a few high tables and stools, but little else by way of ambiance. Clearly, the focus here is to eat and clear out. That said, service at the counter was incredibly warm and friendly. As far as parking goes, there are a few spots out front and even a few more behind the building. I struggled with the number of stars here, because this isn't highbrow or fine dining. If that's what you're after, I'd definitely look elsewhere. But it's predictable, freshly prepared, and therefore perfect for a college town. If that's what you're expecting, this is your four-star spot.

Cheesesteak California (aka cheesesteak hoagie elsewhere) is fire. 10/10. Hate to admit that i prefer this over Max's in Philly, but I gotta keep it real.

I've been to Philly a few times and have yet to find cheesesteaks better than the ones this place has. that's like, the whole review, there's really nothing else to write home about, none of it matters because the sandwiches are just that good.

OK... so this house looking restaurant is pretty deceiving. I was craving a cheesestak and came here "just because." I noticed he cut the nub off the loaf when I ordered a "half".....2 lunches for me. Mini next time. I asked him what he did with the nubs, and he said croutons. I then asked if there was a local bakery he got the bread from, and he said "no, we make it here every hour." It's definitely worth it. The bread is the star of the show. I'm sure any of the toppings will be great on it. I got the special cheesesteak (- bell peppers). Very flavorful. Only a few seats, so either get it to go or plan on standing.

From California, and I'm a truck driver. Had to wait for my load so I stopped here for a bite. The food was good, specifically the grilled chicken steak sub.

Was staying nearby and looking for a good sandwich/sub. I saw this place was closeby, had consistently good reviews and reasonably prices. I arrived there around 6pm and the place was fairly empty. There is a parking lot but it is only big enough for a handful of cars to park and/or manuever. Lots of sandwich options available in 3 sizes: 5" mini, 11" regular and 22" large. Prices averaged $6, $11 and $22 respectively. I decided to go with a cheesesteak which was very good. I got some homemade cookies which were really great. They also have a variety of other desserts and soft drinks. Open space with lots of tables and chairs. The staff there are all really great. Very patient, helpful and attentive to the customers. I hope to return during my next visit to the area to try some other sandwiches

Had a regular cheesesteak with some curly fries and they were great. The roll is perfect because it doesn't get soggy so it carries great and that is a good sign in my eyes even after you reheat it! The service is awesome. Looking forward to trying other items in the menu.
